REPORT ILLEGAL ACTIVITY

If you would like to report illegal activity;
1) Call the Dept. of Permitting and Planning ph.(808)768-8159
The inspectors have asked that you leave a contact phone number on your email or call. They need it to ask you simple questions about location/address  and to follow up about your complaint, they will not give out your information.
2) FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT A PERSON(S) WHO IS NOT A LIC. REALTOR WHO MANAGES ILLEGAL VACATION RENTALS(owner acting as agent) OR REALTORS WHO MANAGE ILLEGAL VACATION RENTALS:
[You must be a Realtor to manage properties. Realtors must abide by all zoning codes and laws.]

    Aloha…I live at ke waena, but the other owners on the other side have made theirs a vacation rental, they even post on vrbo site…I have tried to check, but can not find it registered as legal. I have to deal with all the activity and trouble it causes

    I had lived on Ke Waena Rd for 2 years. I rented a place legally, all GE taxes were paid. However, my neighbors rented there house as a vacation house and made it miserable to be home. I want peace when I get home, not a lot of loud partiers, screaming families, and general rudeness. I am not a tour guide nor did I appreciate some of the guest peeking in my windows. I got so annoyed I had to move. The people that rented there were generally obnoxious and trashy. I highly doubt any GE taxes were collected on the property and the owners are a nightmare, they don’t even live on island. They are exploiting the neighborhood and ruining the North Shore, a place I love and respect!

  3. Oh, I’d guess the taxes were collected….now, whether they were passed on to the State/County is a different matter!!! 59-181 “E” & 59-181 “F” Ke Nui Road are prime examples!!! The Owner is currently in Prison for drug dealing….his son-in-law was managing the rentals but his parole was just revoked for failing drug tests……his daughter with 4 children age 5 and under is selling drugs as fast as she can from what I’ve heard to try and keep 1 of the Ke Nui properties from being foreclosed on because Daddy didn’t pass on over $400,000 in GET (vacation rental) taxes that he did charge to his visitors…….that’s $3.6MIL in rental income.
